The sewer channels found in every location and settlement also require hatches for maintenance and treatment of the pipes when necessary. Each such hatch has massive covers, that may be considered safe but are not easily opened and, moreover, are not aesthetic or do not blend in naturally with the pavement or flooring. To address both the logistical and design aspects, sewer covers are currently being designed that can be combined with any type of flooring and match the appearance of the surface in which they are located.
Sewer covers in the public space
Most of the sewer covers on the street are part of the municipal infrastructure. The authorities’ construction and safety regulations require the construction of sewer hatches in accordance with strict provisions, so that said will not constitute a safety hazard and cause accidents and falls. However, often these openings are not properly shut, there are many cases in which the openings protrude above the ground or do not integrate with the terrain in a natural way and in a small moment of inattention, may lead to damages, injuries and in the worst case – a life-threatening situation. Moreover, such openings are massive and opening them is not always easy. Whereas such openings have been used to date by default, current technological development in the field enables the existence of advanced logistics solutions.
Sewer covers in the public space
Apart from on the street, the sewer openings are also found in private buildings such as residences. The desire to maintain a pleasant and safe environment in these areas led to the need for an aesthetic, safe yet efficient and convenient solution. However, in order to get started, a solution was required for several issues, among them – the height of the pit, its uniformity with the surface and with the entire flooring, maximum stability so that it is rendered a safe opening, and maximum convenience – meaning that it can be easily opened when required. Furthermore, adapting the various flooring materials, including materials found in modern construction, to the sewer openings in a manner that creates perfect adhesion and high durability over the years.
An aesthetic but also useful solution
Thus was born the innovative solution that has been successfully implemented and allows great flexibility and adaptability to any surface – a cover to cover sewer chambers including an adapter, designed for sewer pits that are higher than the floor level. The square cover, which can be tiled on with no problem, renders the use of the sewer hatches more convenient and efficient on the one hand and aesthetic on the other. The square shape of the cover and the smooth surface, along with the height adjuster, guarantee uniform flooring, convenient and simple adhesion, convenient use and maximum integration with the existing flooring.
This cover, made of stainless steel or galvanized iron, is laser cut at a high level of precision, has a removable handle that enables its opening but also ensures the sealing of the pit and the odours arising therefrom.
